Below is a list of upcoming Conferences, Education and Training events.
2012 Nebraska Planning Conference - NPZA_Matrix_current_2012_1.pdf
The Nebraska Planning Conference will be held in Grand Island at the Mid Town Holiday Inn on South Locust Street from March 28 to March 30, 2012. This is our 6th year in Grand Island at the Mid-Town Holiday Inn. The conference is a favorite event for Planners, Planning Commissioners and Zoning Administrators/Code Officials from all over the state of Nebraska for many years.
We are also starting to attract interest from the legal profession. For the second year we will be offering courses for Continuing Legal Education Credits. The session with David H. Ptak on Wednesday March 28th has been approved for 6.5 hours of credit and several breakout sessions on Thursday and Friday have been approved for between 1.5 and 3.5 hours of credit including 2 hours of Professional Responsibility (ethics). We will be offering up to 13 hours of MCLE approved courses during the conference. In addition to the continuing education for Nebraska Attorneys, we expect that member of American Institute of Certified Planners can complete up to 13.5 hours of CM (certification maintenance) including both legal and ethics sessions.
If you are at the conference on Wednesday evening you can register for the Crane Watching Bridge Tour at the Nebraska Nature Center near I-80 exit 305. Last year 30 people from the conference braved the damp and cold to view the cranes coming in to roost in the Platte River south of Alda. This incredible natural phenomenon brings thousands of visitors to Central Nebraska and the Nebraska Nature Center offers an excellent viewing site.
You will see lots of new things at this year’s conference including our new look. The Nebraska Planning and Zoning Association and the Nebraska Chapter of the American Planning Association are working hard to create a cohesive image for the Nebraska Planning Conference and to identify this conference as the primary source for planning and zoning education in Nebraska. Come out to the conference and then let us know what you think about the changes we are making.
You can get more information about the conference and register at www.npza.org.
Other Conferences that we currenlty know about are listed here for you to look into if interested. If you go, please let us know. We'd love to have a brief write up of the conference posted to our website.
