We are currently looking at a few example cities from North America, namely Canada and Australia to conclude our final study on city planning and its effect on real estate prices. A few cities have come up as a great reminder of what not to implement so that affordability issues do not arise. Namely two cities came to mind when looking at property affordibility issues: Vancouver see here and Sidney seen here. Due to their ever reliance of transit oriented development, we see that a huge pressure was built up to increase the values of the properties surrounding the train/metro stations and bus stops. We would like to use these two cities as examples.
